Gary Lai, O.D. is a San Francisco native. After receiving his undergraduate degree with a B.A in Physiology from University of California Berkeley, he continued on and received his doctorate from the School of Optometry at U.C. Berkeley. With more than 25 years of experience, he has worked at University of California San Francisco, the Veterans Affairs Hospitals in Sacramento & Oakland and in private practice in southern California. Dr. Lai is a member of the California and American Optometric Associations. He enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding and skiing. He loves the mountains and photographing them, summitting many peaks in the Sierras and Colorado.

Sharon Ho, O.D., F.A.A.O., also attended UC Berkeley as an undergraduate, with a B.A. in Molecular Cell Biology. After receiving her doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Ho spent an extra year of residency concentrating in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at University of California Los Angeles. She then went on to earn her distinction in becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (F.A.A.O). Dr. Ho has practiced in various specialty pediatric ophthalmology offices. Her passion is specialty contact lenses, including Ortho-K lenses for myopia control and scleral lenses. On her spare time, she enjoys cooking and travelling. Her daughter, Dana and son, Nick are the love of her life.

Michelle was born in the sunny city of San Diego, but raised in the foggy abyss that is Daly City. The fogginess proved to be no match for Michelle's warmth as she thrived in her 15 years (and counting) of experience in customer service, from hospitality to finance. She has come to find a home at Eyeworks of San Mateo. Being a mother of 3 amazing kids is tiring so you'll find her most days with a coffee at hand in the hopes it could magically recharge her.

From Foggy City AKA Daly City, Brandon has been in customer service for 3 years. He started his optical journey over a year ago and has found joy in learning new information everyday! He uses his experience to help patients meet their needs and hopes to give them comfort in their eyecare solution choices here at Eyeworks. In his free time, he enjoys watching the 49ers on Sundays and playing with his furry companion Thor.

Lizzie grew up in the east bay and now lives in the peninsula. With over 4 years of experience as an optician, she has thorough knowledge of optics to help you see your best and look your best with an eye for frame styling. She is also an expert in contact lens training of all types. In her spare time Lizzie enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes.

Gracie hails from sunny Southern California. But if you asked her, she much prefers the foggy Bay Area. With years of experience in customer service and hospitality, Gracie's path has led her to Eyeworks' cozy office and warm team. Gracie has a penchant for collecting knick-knacks and trinkets, and doting on her two cats. She loves to knit and crochet in her free time. Although, she starts more projects than she finishes, it's the journey that matters, she says.

Athena hails from the beautiful City of Bacolod in the Philippines. She has been a tremendous asset to Eyeworks, assisting with appointments and relaying patients' requests to the rest of the team. She is always eager to assist and her genuine warmth is appreciated by all. Her vital role in ensuring smooth communications between patients and staff makes her invaluable.
